Fira / Thira est une œuvre qui s’inspire de Santorin, île volcanique marquée par une histoire géologique et mythologique intense, parfois associée au mythe de l’Atlantide.
La fresque explore la mémoire de ce territoire façonné par une éruption majeure et par la présence persistante des récits antiques. Elle en propose une lecture visuelle où la forme circulaire de la caldeira devient une structure centrale, entre paysage réel et imaginaire post-catastrophe.
En rapprochant ce paysage ancien des enjeux contemporains de l’Anthropocène, l’œuvre interroge notre rapport à la mémoire, au territoire et à la disparition, dans un monde traversé par des cycles de transformation extrêmes.

Fira / Thira is a work inspired by Santorini, a volcanic island marked by a profound geological history and rich mythological narratives, sometimes associated with the myth of Atlantis.
The mural explores the memory of this landscape shaped by a major eruption and by the enduring presence of ancient stories. It offers a visual reading in which the circular form of the caldera becomes a central structure, suspended between a real landscape and a post-catastrophic imaginary.
By connecting this ancient landscape to contemporary Anthropocene concerns, the work questions our relationship to memory, territory, and disappearance in a world shaped by extreme cycles of transformation.
